Dear Members & Supporters

The STAG committee held a Development Meeting on Saturday, September 13th, from 2 to 5 p.m. We were very grateful to the people who attended. Despite a small turnout, we proceeded with the meeting and had a good discussion.

First, co-chair Helen McIlroy presented a potted pre-history of STAG to remind us of the campaign’s origins and some of the people involved. This was followed by Isabel O’Leary providing an overview of the previous action plan and slides from Nicola Gilbert explaining her process for local street tree planting projects. Finally, we discussed our thoughts and feelings about STAG as it is now, its purpose, and potential actions.

The committee will meet next on Monday, September 29th, at 7.30 p.m. We are meeting at the home of a committee member. If you would like to observe, please get in touch. At the meeting, we will discuss our views about the future of STAG in light of the Development Meeting on September 13th. The discussion we had that day, the number of attendees, and the actions of the former committee all affect our current perspective about STAG’s potential.

We will publish the minutes of the committee meeting and email members with any proposals that may arise from it. We will welcome input from members and supporters, so please share your thoughts regarding any plans we suggest and ideas of your own.

Best wishes, Alison Teal, Co-Chair on behalf of the STAG Committee
